The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

As to memories, dinner and/or sharing a pitcher of beer at the Rathskeller, bull sessions in the dorm with friends, remarkable professors such as Harrison Tietz, Robert Bernreuter, getting a Phi Beta Kappa key a year after graduation because I had been overlooked and a professor asked if I was a member and said "somethings wrong!" and checked on my academic record. So far as my present situation, I lost my dear wife five years ago and am living with my son Michael here in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Having lost most of my hearing while at Penn State, I am now active in the Hearing Loss Association of America's local Lancaster County Chapter, give talks to organizations and senior citizens about hearing loss, hearing aids, cochlear implants, etc. I wore a hearing aid for forty years, I suddenly lost my hearing completely in October 1990 and now hear using my cochlear implant. Yes! I am now a Bionic Man! I am active in my Baha'i Faith and am, presently, a member of the local elective governing body of nine members for the Bahais of the City of Lancaster. I will be 82 on October 8th of 2009 and have a granddaughter who will be 18 five days later. How did I get so old so soon?
